Ashi Glasses (500 ml) - Nerikomi Porcelain
Ashi is a collection of porcelain cups inspired by the view of Lake Ashi near Hakone – a place from which, with a bit of luck, you can see the majestic silhouette of Mount Fuji.
The cups are made from a combination of white and blue porcelain, and each one is hand-thrown on a wheel. The juxtaposition of these two colors refers to the lake's landscape – the steel-blue surface of the water, above which mists, clouds, and a delicate drizzle drift, pushed by alternately warm and cool gusts of wind. Around the lake stretches a dense coniferous forest, whose dark green creates a striking contrast with the steel blue of the water. It is this cool, slightly misty landscape that inspired the collection's color palette.
The cups have a large capacity, making them suitable for both hot and cold beverages – from morning coffee or tea to a generous portion of water, lemonade, or iced coffee.
Material: white and blue porcelain, hand-thrown on a wheel.
Firing: 1240°C.
Capacity: approx. 500 ml, ideal for both hot and cold beverages.
Each cup is handmade, so individual pieces may differ slightly from one another. Handicraft is not mass production – slight variations are part of the creative process and make each cup unique.
